This past Sunday the Washington high school wrestling team hosted their awards night. This was the first time Washington filled a whole team in the past 10 years and the future looks bright for the program with losing 3 seniors to graduation but 18 8th graders wrestled on the Jr. High team that will become freshmen next year. In statewide college basketball Purdue center Zach Edey, the consensus national player of the year announced Tuesday that he plans to enter the NBA draft while maintaining his college eligibility. Edey has until May 31 if he wants to withdraw from the draft and return to the Boilermakers for his senior season.
Good news out of the NFL Bills safety Damar Hamlin has been fully cleared to return to playing football, Buffalo general manager Brandon Beane said Tuesday. Hamlin saw his last specialist Friday and is in attendance and participating at voluntary workouts with the Bills this week. The announcement comes 3½ months after Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest during the first quarter of the Jan. 2 regular-season “Monday Night Football” game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
