Tell City Police Deal With False School Threat

Tell City Police were kept busy last night dealing with a possible threat. The call came in yesterday evening to dispatch from law enforcement in Illinois, claiming limited information on a possible shooting threat they received at Tell City High School. The school was hosting the opening round of the sectional tournament when the call came in. Officials worked quickly to evacuate the gym, and officers did a full sweep of the school and found no concerns. The officers then tracked down the adult male from Tell City who made the call and discovered that there was no credible information to back up the threat. Law enforcement stresses that there is no additional cause for concern for the community, school, or staff. In the basketball game, North Posey pulled off one of the round-one upsets, defeating a very good South Spencer team 58-56.
