Four Dubois County residents lost their lives in a tragic car accident early Saturday night. The Spencer County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the intersection of US 231 and CR 1000 North in Chrisney, Indiana. Deputies found a Toyota Tundra on the shoulder of the northbound lanes of US 231 and a Jeep Cherokee on its side in the travel portion of the northbound lanes of US 231. An investigation revealed that 56-year-old Christopher Allen of Fort Branch was driving the Toyota northbound on US 231 and approaching CR 1000 North. The Jeep, which was driven by 27-year-old Michael Seger (say-gur), of Holland, was traveling westbound on CR 1000 North, approaching U.S. 231. The investigation found that Seger failed to stop at the stop sign prior to entering U.S. 231. As a result, the Toyota Tundra struck the driver’s side of the Jeep. The driver of the Jeep and his three passengers were pronounced dead at the scene. Allen was treated for complaints of pain but was not transported for further care. Those who lost their lives in the crash include Seger, 23-year-old Fernanda Cruz Valencia, 60-year-old Donna Cassidy, and 65-year-old Bernard Goeppner, all of Holland. The investigation continues.
