*WJHS 8th grade Lady Hatchets traveled to Boonville to play the host Pioneers in the opening round of the Pocket Athletic Conference tournament on Monday night.
8th grade Lady Hatchets would take control of the game and lead after 1 quarter 23-2 and never looked back with a dominating opening round 40-6. They will now play Thursday night in the 2nd round @ 7:45pm. It will either be at Princeton or Southridge based on the outcome of their game. Scott Lemon’s 8th Grade Lady Hatchets are now a stellar 19-3.
*The 8th grade boys Vikings hosted Rivet, and won 48-30. The Vikings were led in scoring by Carson Yoder with 14 points The Vikings are on the road Tuesday when they travel to WRV.
*The Barr-Reeve 6th grade girls lost to North Daviess 16-12 to fall to 9-6 for the season Monday night. Joslyn Knepp led Barr-Reeve in scoring with 6 points.
*In C team basketball Barr Reeve rode a stellar defensive effort to defeat Springs Valley 46-22. Vikings were led by Caleb Moffet with 13 points and Levi Lester with 10 points

Makenzie Homes leads the way with 26 pints and 10 Rebounds. Chloe Moore-Mcneil has 7 assists to lead the Hoosiers who moves to 19 and 1 on the season. Next up for Teri Moren’s squad is home versus Ohio State on Thursday.
*In the new Men’s AP basketball poll after a weekend of upsets Purdue is back in the top spot this week. The Boilermakers have won six straight games, and most recently escaped with a 3-point win over Maryland. Alabama is now No. 2 amid its eight-game win streak, and is fresh off a dominant 21-point win over Missouri. The rest of the top 5 are: #3: Houston (18-2)
#4: Tennessee (16-3) and #5 Kansas State (17-2)
