Ronnie L. Lane

Ronnie L. Lane passed on to his heavenly home on December 23, 2022.
He was born on December 14, 1938, in Decker, Indiana to Harold and Hester (Young) Lane.
He married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Kay Lane, on February 13, 1959. They made their life together until her passing on February 16, 2022.
Following graduation from Decker High School, he enlisted in the US Navy. His service took him to many posts throughout the world. After his Navy service ended, Ron began employment with Ameritech/Indiana Bell, spending his entire career working there.
Ron enjoyed hunting and fishing. He greatly enjoyed coaching many years of Little League baseball in Monroe City. His greatest sports enjoyment was following Indiana University basketball and St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He also enjoyed following his grandchildren’s sporting events, attending all of their games.
He was preceded by his wife, a daughter Janet, parents, stepmother Wilma Lane, his brother Dick, and his sister Delores.
He is survived by his daughter Rhonda Garner and her husband, Jeff of Henderson, KY; his grandson Travis Garner of Fort Branch, IN; and his granddaughter Tonya and her husband Marcus of Corydon, KY; brother and sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
Ron was a member of Vincennes Community Church and the American Legion, and a proud supporter of the Disabled American Veterans Association.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, December 30, 2022 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rex Seitzinger officiating. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with his arrangements.
