The Washington VFW and American Legion hosted a special Veterans Day Program yesterday at the Daviess County Courthouse Steps.
Local Veterans from each of the different branches were recognized as well as those still missing in action.
Guest Speaker was Lieutenant Commander David Buitrago who answered the question as to why we get involved and why Men and Women step up to serve our country.
Buitrago closed with one last request. He said we have enough people in the world that don’t like us….be nice to each other.
The ceremony was well attended and ended with a 21-gun salute and the playing of TAPS.
