Betty Lou Miley, 90, passed away at home peacefully on October 30, 2022 surrounded by her family. She is the daughter of Phillip and Christina (Williams) Taylor. She married her first husband, Shirley Ray Lucas on May 5, 1961. She married her second husband, Thomas H. Miley on May 6, 1972.
Betty enjoyed cooking for her family, doing puzzle books, reading, and crocheting. She spent a lot of time on her porch talking and catching up with her neighbors.
She worked at the Tip Top Creamery for 9 ½ years. Then also worked at several truck stops for a few years before retiring from The Executive Inn on January 1, 2005 in Vincennes, Indiana.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Cynthia L. Kitchell and Teresa M. Scott, both of Vincennes, Indiana; Maudina C. Snider (Kevin) of Bicknell, Indiana; Grandchildren, Phillip H McDonald (Amber), Heather M. Bloebaum (Scott), Michael W.McDonald (Mandie), Ryan M. Scott (Chelsea), and Thomas J. Snider; Great Grandchildren, Taylea, Taylor, Eli, Austin, and Piper McDonald, Wyatt and Masen Bloebaum, Kenna, Braylee, Logan and Easten Chanley, Raylee, Jensin and Nya Scott; and sister Shirley Black (Don).
She was preceded in death by her first husband Ray Lucas, second husband Thomas Miley; parents, Phillip and Christina Taylor; sisters, Phyllis Dalton, Katherine Threlkeld, Ernestine Willis, and Willana Archer; brothers, Joseph Taylor, John Taylor, and James Taylor.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 11:00 am- 1:00 pm with a funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm at Goodwin-Sievers Gardner Brockman Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of Betty.
