roadwork-2

Here are two announcements from the Indiana Department of Transportation affecting area highways.
INDOT has announced lane restrictions for State Road 56 and State Road 57 in Petersburg.
Beginning on or around Monday, October 17, crews will begin work to improve State Road 56 and State Road 57 in Petersburg. This work will require restrictions to the roadway. Crews will begin with patchwork to the roadway. This work is expected to take a month to complete. Improvements will also be made to stoplights in the project area. An HMA overlay project is planned to follow in the spring of 2023. The entire project is expected to be complete by the end September of 2023, depending on the weather.
And in Greene County, INDOT  announced a road closure for State Road 54 in Linton beginning today.
INDOT says contractors will close State Road 54 in Linton near Parkview Motors. This closure will allow crews to perform a box culvert replacement. The closure will last 24 hours a day. The project is expected to take a week to complete, depending on the weather.
The official detour during the closure is State Road 59 to State Road 48 to State Road 157 to State Road 67. Local traffic will have access up to the point of closure.
