Wilson Keith Wininger, 91, of Shoals, Indiana passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, surrounded by his family at Sycamore Care Strategies in Loogootee, Indiana.
He was born on July 10, 1933, in Martin County, Indiana to Roy and Bertha (Collins) Wininger.
Wilson was a Member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Loogootee, Indiana. He was a United States Army Veteran in the 8th Infantry earning a National Defense Service Medal Army for his time in Germany. Wilson married Louise (Bauer) Wininger on August 31, 1957, and she preceded him in death on Saturday, August 12, 2023. He worked maintenance and various positions at NWSC Crane over 26 years. Wilson was a lifetime farmer. He was a member of the Shoals American Legion, Loogootee V.F.W, and the Shoals Eagles Lodge 2442. Wilson enjoyed NASCAR, IU Basketball, and playing cards. He loved to spend time with his friends and family and will be missed by all that knew him.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Louise Wininger, his parents, Roy and Bertha (Collins) Wininger, his siblings, Kenneth Wininger, Norman Wininger, and Vonda Wininger.
Wilson Wininger is survived by his children, Brian (Tammy) Wininger, Randy (Vicki) Wininger, Todd Wininger, his grandchildren, Trenton Wininger, Bradley (Bre) Wininger, Justin (Sara) Wininger, Alex (Ginny) Wininger, Calli (Christopher) Jones, her great- grandchildren, Evon Wininger, Jaxson Wininger, Isaac Tarr, Kinsley Louise Wininger, Paisley Wininger, Oliver Wininger, Noah Wininger, Chloe Jones, several brother and sister in laws, and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday September 24, 2024, at the St. John Lutheran Church in Loogootee, Indiana from 9:00 A.M until the time of service at 11:00 A.M.
A funeral service will be held on, Tuesday September 24, 2024, at St. John Lutheran Church in Loogootee, Indiana with Pastor Timothy Fleace to officiate. Burial and Military Rites will follow at Goodwill Cemetery.
