Paul William Himsel, 57, of Washington, IN, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, August 24, 2024, with his family by his side.

Paul was born in Washington, IN on May 25, 1967, to the late Jerry & Helen (Dayton) Himsel.

He graduated from Washington High School in 1985. Paul was a hard worker who could fix or build almost anything. He had an infectious sense of humor, and was always quick witted. Paul spent most of his working years in the trucking industry. From being an owner-operator, to being the Lead Dispatcher at JT Express in Washington.

No matter what he was doing around the house, he always had his faithful-four-legged companions Dupont, Smokey, and Resse following him close by. He loved spending time with family, hunting, watching college football (especially Notre Dame or Alabama), watching IU Basketball, and working on various wood projects. Some of his proudest moments were watching his kids play sports throughout their childhoods.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie (Overton) Himsel of Washington; his daughter, Casey Himsel of Washington; his son, Justin Himsel of Bloomington; sisters, Martha Overton of Washington and Lois (David) Nash of Marshall, IL; and several in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, mother-in-law Winona Overton, and father-in-law Kenny Overton.

Visitation for Paul will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024, from 12:00-4:00pm at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home 2020 State St., Washington, IN 47501. A celebration of life will begin immediately following visitation at 4:00pm with Pastor Tim Baxter officiating.
