Betty Delores Ham

Betty Delores Ham, 94, of Shoals, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Poplar Care Strategies, Loogootee.
Born June 2, 1930, in Martin County, she was the daughter of Philip H. and Clonia M. (Hovis) Ham.
Delores graduated from Shoals High School with the class of 1947.
She was employed at NWSC Crane from June of 1950 until her retirement in June of 1985.
Delores was a member of the Hickory Ridge United Methodist Church until its closure in 2016 and also attended Dover Hill United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Women’s Study Club for many years, holding various offices.
Surviving are one niece, Nancy K. (Steve) Laymon, of Indianapolis; one great-nephew, Brian Cooper, of Corydon; one great-niece, Ashley E. Laymon, of Annapolis, MD; one great-great niece, Sydney Jade Cooper of Corydon; and one nephew in-law, Harold Cooper of Shoals.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Clonia Ham; two brothers, Hubert Ham, in infancy, and Orlando Ham; sisters, Thelma Roth and Laverne Falon; three nephews, Dickie Ham, Billie Ham, and Walter Roth; and one niece, Brenda Cooper.
In accordance with Delores’ wishes, a graveside service will be held at Spring Hill Cemetery at a later date with David Smith officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care.
