Carla K. (Grove) Campton, 64, passed away while at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes on August 3, 2024. She was born in Washington on January 6, 1960, to Jack and Carolyn Sue (Ross) Grove. On May 7, 1983, Carla married the love of her life, Douglas Campton; and for the next forty-one years, they created a loving home for themselves and their two daughters.
A 1978 graduate of Washington Catholic High School, Carla went on to graduate from Vincennes Beauty College and become a hairdresser. She enjoyed swimming and decorating her home. However, she was happiest when she was spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church.
Those who now mourn Carla’s passing include her husband, Doug Campton; daughters, Paige (Trent) Chattin and Kelsi (Travis) Edwards, all of Washington. Carla was blessed with three grandchildren: Penelope Chattin, Merryn Edwards and Amelia Edwards. She leaves two sisters: Diane Webber of Washington and Jackie (Jerry) Arthur of Indianapolis.
During her lifetime, Carla mourned the loss of her parents, Jack and Carolyn Grove; and her precious grandson born sleeping, Lincoln Chattin.
Visitation for Carla Campton will be 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 315 NE 3rd Street, Washington, Indiana.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Carla Campton, immediately following the visitation and beginning at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, August 6, 2024, also at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. Father Paul Ferguson will be the celebrant.
Burial will be in the St. John Cemetery.
