A tragic two-vehicle crash on Saturday afternoon in Edgar County, Illinois, claimed the lives of a Sullivan County couple. The accident occurred on Illinois Highway 133, two miles west of Redmon, when a westbound SUV crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with an eastbound motorcycle. Despite the motorcycle moving onto the highway’s south shoulder to avoid the crash, the collision was unavoidable. The motorcycle’s driver, 50-year-old Kenneth Ming of Farmersburg, Indiana, died instantly from his injuries. The passenger, 54-year-old Devona Ming, also of Farmersburg, was treated at the scene, but resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. Kenneth Ming was a dedicated Firefighter/Paramedic and served as an EMT with the Thunderbird Fire Protection Territory. The incident is still under investigation.
