Sharon Jean “Bright” Booher, a woman of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2024, at the age of 85.
She was born at home on May 4, 1939, in Bicknell, Indiana. She grew up to touch the lives of all who knew her with her warmth and generosity. Sharon’s final days were spent surrounded by the love of her family in Odon, Indiana.

Sharon was a graduate of Bicknell High School and put her education to use at Crestview Healthcare, managing accounts receivable with a level of proficiency and care that was appreciated by all her colleagues. She was also a waitress for many years at Betty’s Café in Bicknell making many friends there. She navigated her career with the same attention to detail and warmth that she bestowed upon her family and friends.

Sharon’s giving nature was evident in everything she did, particularly in the joy she found in spending time with her family, playing cards, reading, working sudoku puzzles, playing bingo, enjoying the excitement of her bowling league in her younger years, and experiencing the adventures of travel. She will be remembered for the beautiful afghans she crocheted for family and friends. She made an afghan to celebrate weddings, births of babies, and really for any occasion. She leaves behind a legacy of love and the countless happy memories that she shared with her family.

Sharon is survived by her adoring daughter, Ginny Carter and her husband, Donnie, of Bicknell, IN, her grandsons, Joshua Carter and his wife, Julia, of Arvada. CO and Andrew Carter of Bruceville, IN and her precious great-grandchildren Kohlson, Lilly, Graeme, and the soon-to-arrive Briggs Carter. Also cherishing her memory are her sisters, Cheryl Hugunin of Bicknell, IN and Beryl Earhart and her husband, Randy, of Bicknell, IN, her brother, Micheal Bright and his wife, Shirley, of Freelandville, IN, and many loving nieces and nephews. Sharon now joins her parents, Eugene Herschel Parker Bright and Ruth Naomi “Sanders” Bright, as well as her two brothers, Larry and Denny, and three sisters, Gwenny, Kay and Babe (Sherry), in eternal rest.

Throughout her life, Sharon embodied the essence of what it means to be loving, thoughtful, and kind. She lived her life as a giver and wanted no attention directed to her kindness. Her spirit will continue to be a guiding light for all who were blessed to know her. Per her request no services are planned. Memorial contributions made be made to Bicknell First Baptist Church. Online condolences and fond memories may be shared at www.fredrickandson.com. Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Bicknell Chapel is honored to be entrusted with Mrs. Booher’s arrangements.
