Olyn Keith Hess, 85, passed away at his Amber Manor residence in Petersburg on June 27, 2024. He was born in Palestine, Illinois, July 20, 1938, to Herbert and Mable (East) Hess. On February 11, 1961, he married Joyce Sue (Johnson) Hess, and she preceded him in death.
After graduating from Palestine High School, Keith became a mechanic. He was retired from Camion INC. Keith loved to raise horses and enjoyed working with antique tractors.
Those who now cherish Keith’s memory include his son, Brandon (Susan) Hess of Montgomery and his daughters, Lori (Jeff) Gaither of Washington; and Tammy Hess in Michigan. Keith was blessed with five grandchildren: Kristen (Brandt) Petty of Washington; Haley (Tyler) Webster of Brazil, Indiana; Ben (Adeline) Gaither of Jasper; Garrett Hess and Brad Hess, both of Montgomery. Additionally, Keith leaves four great-grandchildren: Bowen and Brynlee Webster of Brazil, Indiana; and Hutton and Olyn Petty of Washington; and one sister, Nadine McIntosh in Texas.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Mable and Herbert Hess; and his wife, Joyce Hess; and six siblings.

Visitation for Keith Hess will be 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, Monday, July 1, 2024, at the Bethel Church of Washington, South Campus, 3628 South 50 West, Washington, Indiana.
Funeral services for Keith Hess will immediately follow the visitation and begin at 1:00 pm, also at the Bethel Church of Washington, South Campus. Cheryl Jones will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery.
