Jasper,– Delain D. Taylor, 27, of Jasper, was arrested Sunday morning following an incident at his residence. Jasper City Police Department responded to a distress call where a female reported being strangled and threatened with a firearm. Upon arrival, officers found the female in the parking lot, who indicated that Taylor remained inside the apartment with two children. Using a drone, officers confirmed the presence of Taylor and the children inside the apartment. After a standoff, Taylor exited the residence and was detained. The children were found unharmed, and officers discovered a weapon and drug paraphernalia in the apartment. Taylor faces charges of intimidation with a deadly weapon, strangulation with a deadly weapon, neglect of a dependent, possession of paraphernalia, and resisting law enforcement. He was transported to the Dubois County Security Center. The Department of Child Services and the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the response.
