The Martin County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the unexpected loss of K9 Spike, whose handler, Captain Larry Gibson, reported the news on June 16.
Trained in both patrol and detection, K9 Spike was dedicated to his work and enjoyed finding drugs.
Off-duty, he loved playing fetch and spending time with Captain Gibson’s children.
K9 Spike was a beloved member of the Sheriff’s Office, the community, and Captain Gibson’s family.
