With heavy hearts, we celebrate the life and legacy of Larry Lee Lucas, who passed away on June 1, 2024.  Larry was born on February 12, 1939, in Washington, the son of Ralph and Mary (Garner) Lucas. He married Sharon Palmer on November 4, 1960.
Larry retired as a custodian with the Washington Community School Corporation and proudly served his country in the National Guard. A devoted member of the First Baptist Church, Larry found joy in woodworking and cherished quality time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife Sharon Lucas; daughters, Stacy (Brad) Taylor, Laura (Todd) Theine; his grandchildren, Caitlyn (Joey) Williamson, Clayton Williamson, Chris Taylor, Matthew (Britney) Taylor, Ellie Theine, Raeanna (Casey) Theine; his great grandchildren, Rayleigh Williamson, Houston Nelson, Olivia Taylor, Isaac Taylor and Kendall Edwards Quast. Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Mary Lucas, brothers, Robert and William Lucas and sister, Carolyn Joyce.
A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 7, 2024 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State St., Washington, IN with Pastor Tim Baxter officiating. Friends may visit from 4:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home and from 10:00 am until the hour of service time on Friday at the funeral home. Larry will be laid to rest in Sugarland Memory Gardens. Friends and family are invited to join in remembering and honoring this remarkable man who touched so many lives through his kindness and dedication.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Baptist Food Pantry, 100 E. Walnut St., Washington, IN 47501.
