Our Community Foundation has awarded a $750 grant to the Healthy Hoosiers Initiative through the 2024 Fast Grant Program. This grant will support a new project at Daviess County schools by providing funds to purchase feminine products, underwear, and pants for school nurses to keep in stock for students who have recently started menstruating or cannot afford sanitary products. Kaitlyn Gabhart, co-founder of the Healthy Hoosiers Initiative and Director of Behavioral Healthcare Services, mentioned that the need was highlighted by a community member who has been personally donating these items to local schools for the past 4-5 months.
