WPD, Multiple Agencies Arrest Suspects After Tip from Oklahoma; Firearms and Narcotics Seized

On May 7, the Washington Police Department received information from a citizen in Oklahoma regarding a suspected theft by Andrew Jason Foster. The citizen provided a vehicle description and believed Foster was returning to the Washington area. On May 8, WPD detectives located the vehicle Foster was suspected to be using and confirmed he had an unrelated arrest warrant issued out of Pike County. After several hours of surveillance, multiple agencies took Foster into custody without incident. A firearm was not found at this time. Later, detectives obtained a search warrant for a residence on Center St. to search for firearms and narcotics-related items. They found the handgun suspected to have been stolen from Oklahoma, another handgun, and items related to drug use or distribution. As a result of the search warrant, Marcus Henson, Joel Shands, Nathan Morgan, and Izabella Wells were arrested on various charges:
Henson: Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Unlawful Possession of a Syringe, & Possession of Paraphernalia.
Shands: Maintaining a Common Nuisance & Possession of Paraphernalia.
Morgan: Unrelated Arrest Warrant & Visiting a Common Nuisance.
Wells: Visiting a Common Nuisance.
