On March 20, 2024, Charles Jacob Allen Dewitt, 22, was arrested in Birdseye and lodged in the Dubois County Security Center on charges of possession of child pornography. The arrest followed a response by JPD’s ICAC Task Force to 2444 S Kings Ridge Rd. early Wednesday morning. The visit was prompted by a cybertip indicating that child pornography had been uploaded from the residence. After executing a search warrant, investigators were able to establish probable cause against Mr. Dewitt for the allegations. The Jasper Police Department received assistance from the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office and DCS during the operation.
