Former Lawrence County Sheriff deputy and Crane Base law enforcement officer Jon D. Flynn was arrested by the Martin County Sheriff’s Department for battery on a law enforcement officer and other charges. The incident began on February 4 at 11:40 a.m. on Blandy Street in Crane Village when a complaint was received about a fire Flynn started, which led to a confrontation with officers. Flynn was unsteady on his feet, used profanity, and resisted arrest, even threatening an officer during the altercation. Flynn faces charges including battery on a law enforcement officer and criminal recklessness with a firearm. He remains in Martin County Jail pending a court hearing on February 20th.
