Earl B. Mills, 93, of Loogootee, Indiana passed away at 4:12 p.m. Friday, January 5th, 2024 at Greenwood Village South.
He was born June 23, 1930 in Montgomery, Indiana to the late Earl Thomas and Catherine Elizabeth (Gootee) Mills.
Earl married Ruth Denson on May 1, 1953 and together they shared 70 years of marriage until her passing.
He was a United States Army veteran and served in the Korean War. Earl was a charter member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars – Post 9395. Earl and Ruth volunteer for many years at St. Vincent De Paul and managed bingo at the VFW Post 9395. Earl was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Mills; parents, Earl and Catherine Mills; and ten siblings.
He is survived by his children, Peter (Bunny) Mills of West Brook, Maine, Andrew (Robin) Mills of Greenwood, Patrick Mills of Indianapolis, and Julie Mehrlich of Indianapolis; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Payne of Beech Grove.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 11, 2024 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 11 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church.
