Carolyn Shore

With a heavy heart, yet a spirit uplifted by the memory of a life well lived, we announce the passing of Carolyn Shore, who peacefully left us on December 18, 2023. Born in Sumner, Illinois on September 24, 1947, Carolyn was a beacon of joy and laughter to all who knew her. It was her unyielding spirit and love for life that allowed her to face each day with a smile.
After graduating from Sumner High School, Carolyn tied the knot with her beloved husband, Edison Shore, on June 7, 1966. She worked diligently as a laborer in the blind manufacturing business at Design-Tech until her retirement, showing a strong work ethic and resilience that was admired by many. Carolyn had a passion for the simple pleasures of life. She was known for her practical jokes, her love for camping, and her keen interest in flea markets and classic cars. Carolyn most importantly enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter Allison, cooking, baking and playing card games. She also was a woman who knew the value of a good laugh and the importance of making every moment count.
Carolyn is survived by her son E.J. Shore III and his wife Jennifer of Vincennes and her granddaughter, Allison Shore. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edison Shore, Jr. her father, Delbert Clark, her mother, Dorothy Clark, and her brother, Ozzie Clark. The legacy of Carolyn’s spirit, passion, and zest for life will continue to live on through them.
 A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on January 12, 2024, at Memorial Park Cemetery.
