Judy Glenda Cunningham

Judy Glenda Cunningham, aged 70, of Oaktown, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on January 5th, 2024. Born on July 5th, 1953, in Saginaw, Michigan, she was a beacon of light to all who knew her, embracing the journey of life with grace and kindness.

She was the embodiment of tenderness, a woman whose gentle presence was felt deeply by her loving family, friends, and community. She formed an unwavering team with her husband, Ronnie Lee Cunningham which she married July 17, 1971 and together they raised a family that reflected the warmth and love she naturally exuded.

Judy was a cherished mother to her son, Billy Joe Cunningham (Jennifer), and was blessed with two adoring grandchildren, Brayden Joe Cunningham and Emily Lynn Cunningham, who were the apple of her eye. Her supportive siblings, Hazel Todd (Lonnie), Roma Bogard (Ralph), and Connie Moore, will miss her deeply, as will her many nieces and nephews. Her light preceded her into the next life, along with her parents, Lois and Glenn, her son Donnie Lee Cunningham, and her brother Roger Willson.

Throughout her career, Judy’s diligent work as a secretary for Medleys Carlisle Hardware and her compassionate tenure as a Title I aide at North Knox West Elementary showcased her dedication and heart for service. Judy was a devoted member of Quilters at Heart and the Deaf Club.

Judy had a zest for life that was expressed through her passion for quilting, sewing, and camping. She found joy in collecting anything the color blue, a hue that reflected her serene and loving nature. More than anything, the time Judy spent with her family was her most cherished treasure.

We remember Judy today not just for the facts that filled her life, but for the gentle, steadfast love she gave to the world. Her legacy of kindness is a quilt woven from the many lives she touched, its pattern etched in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Judy’s memory will forever be treasured and her spirit will continue to inspire.
