Howard County Police have confirmed the arrest of Curtis Freeman, the suspected arsonist accused of setting a woman’s house on fire on Christmas day. Freeman, believed to be homeless, was located in an Orange County liquor store on Tuesday en route to DuBois County, approximately 3 hours from Kokomo. DuBois County authorities took him into custody on an outstanding warrant from Terre Haute. Following the Christmas Day fire, Freeman was named a person of interest. The Kokomo Fire Department discovered a deceased woman inside the burnt residence; however, an autopsy later determined her cause of death to be blunt force trauma unrelated to the fire.
