Stephen Glen Knippa,61, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 17, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 30, 1962, in Killeen, TX, Stephen grew up with a passion for life and a love for music that could move mountains. He was a man whose heart was as infectious as a well-loved melody, a man who believed in the power of song as a vessel for joy, love, and unity.
In his life, Steve made it his mission to spread this joy to as many people as he could. He worked worked at Toyota and loved his job and work family immensely. In his spare time he was a fantastic DJ. He spent many Saturday evenings running karaoke at the VFW in Vincennes. He was the life of every party, also known as Jiggy Man, his voice a beacon in the night that drew people in and made them feel at home. His love for music was only matched by his love for his family, and he lovingly referred to his wife as his “Princess Sandy.” His family was his world and the love he had for them was felt. He was a man who lived his life in the service of others, always willing to lend a hand or a kind word to those in need.
Steve leaves behind a legacy of love and music that will continue to resonate in the hearts of his family and all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Fox-Knippa; his daughters, Heather Hardig and Mindy Jenkins (Jarrod); his grandchildren, Austin Hardig (Avery), Taylor Hardig (Kaylee), Jayda Jenkins (Caroline), Macey Jenkins (AJ), Jayli Bonds, and Aubri Jenkins; and his siblings, David Knippa (Anchalee), John Knippa (Chris), and Kathryn Knippa.
