Man Arrested in Jasper After Drunk Driving Incident

Gabriel M. Majak, 43, of Jasper, was arrested yesterday at 1402 Newton St., Jasper. The arrest, made at 6:49 a.m., was in connection with an incident involving an intoxicated driver.

Operating While Intoxicated with Prior Conviction

Operating While Intoxicated Over .15

Operating While Intoxicated Endangerment

Leaving the Scene of an Accident

The associated vehicle involved in the DUI incident was a white 2018 Dodge Ram 1500. According to reports, Jasper Police received a call around 6:49 a.m. reporting a possible intoxicated driver who had struck a retaining wall. Upon investigation, it was discovered that Majak, the male driver, was intoxicated and had also hit a house with the vehicle before leaving the scene. He was detained and transported to Memorial Hospital for a chemical test, where he tested with a .293 BAC. Majak has been lodged in the Dubois County Security Center.
