State Sen. Eric Bassler announced that applications for the 2024 Senate Page Program are currently being accepted. The program, catering to students in grades six through 12, offers a full-day experience involving a tour of Indiana’s Statehouse, participation in legislative debates, and engagement in age-appropriate tasks. Students also get the chance to meet their state senator. The program is scheduled to commence in January and extend through February, with pages serving on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays during the legislative session. The day typically starts at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 3:30 p.m. on most days. Wednesdays are designated for group activities. Serving as a page is considered an excused absence from school. Early applications are encouraged, as positions are limited.
