Lynn Lee Hecht

It is with both sorrow and love that we bid farewell to a truly extraordinary individual, Lynn Lee Hecht, who was born on October 23, 1946, in Garrett, Indiana. Known for his wit and an undying love for music, cars, and mowing, Lynn had a remarkable knack for designing and planning things. He was a man who possessed a heart full of love for his wife, sons, and grandchildren – they were his world, his greatest pride and joy.
Lynn’s life was as vibrant as his journey. After graduating from Ashley High School, he went on to receive his EdD from Ball State University, a testament to his commitment to education. His career in social work and education spoke volumes about his dedication to helping others, Lynn was also a former member of Rotary, where he extended his passion for service beyond the classroom.
Lynn was a man of integrity, love, and laughter. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ann Hecht of Vincennes, whom he married on December 29, 1976; sons, Aaron Hecht and his wife Jessie of Vincennes, Andrew Hecht and his wife Kimberly of Meridian, ID, daughter, Emily Hecht-Meck and her husband Jeff; his grandchildren, Sophia and Julian Hecht and Koen, Kate and Lily Davis as well as several nieces and nephews. Lynn is preceded in death by his father, Harold Hecht, and mother, Lucille Hecht and his sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Bill Ply.
We invite all who knew Lynn to join us in celebrating his life. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 11:00 am EST at St James Episcopal Church, 610 Perry Street, Vincennes, Indiana, 47591. The funeral service will follow at the same location at 1:00 pm EST. Lynn will be laid to rest in Fairview Church Cemetery near Princeton, IN.
