The 33rd annual Cops and Kids event, sponsored by the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 101, is set to make Christmas special for Head Start children in Daviess and Martin Counties. On December 14, volunteers from local, state, and federal law enforcement, fire departments, courts, and other first responders will shop with the children at Wal-Mart.
The goal is to raise enough donations to allocate $200 per child, providing essential clothing and desired toys for approximately 120 children. Each child will be paired with a volunteer, enjoy the company of Santa, the Grinch, Sparky, and McGruff, and receive a police-escorted return to their schools for lunch from McDonald’s.
Donations for cops and kids are welcomed at the police and sheriff’s departments in Daviess and Martin counties. Checks can be made payable to FOP Cops and Kids.
