Evelyn Pearl Shouse, 88, of Monroe City, Indiana, passed away November 23, 2023, in Washington, Indiana.
She was born June 28, 1935, to Hugh and Kathleen (Grafton) Killion in Martin County, Indiana. She graduated from Wheatland High School in the Class of 1953. She belonged to the Beta Club of Wheatland, Eastern Star, Lambi Phi Sorority of Monroe City, and the Walnut Grove United Methodist Church. Evelyn married her husband, Gary Shouse, on September 2, 1953, and they were together 65 years. She loved the farm, red International Harvester tractors, and her Christmas lights.
Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Millie (Rob) Hansen and Nancee (Mike) Scott of Monroe City; grandkids, Chad (Jess) Hansen, Emily (Brad Abel) Cockerham, Calvin (Michele) Scott, and Carrie (Clayton) Willis; and 9 great grandkids.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gary Shouse; her parents, Hugh and Kathleen (Grafton) Killion; her brothers, Wayne Killion and James Killion; and her in-laws, Frank and Madge Shouse.
Funeral services for Evelyn will take place at 12 PM EST on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Walnut Grove United Methodist Church near Monroe City, Indiana, with visitation from 5 PM to 9 PM EST on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at the Church. Pastor Tim Riker will be officiating and burial will follow the funeral service at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Monroe City. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mt. Zion Cemetery and mailed to PO Box 103 Monroe City, IN 47557.
