Monroe City, IN – The Blue Jeans Center in Monroe City is celebrating a financial boost after receiving a $1,100 grant from the MFA Oil Foundation.
The funds will be utilized to enhance sports-related activities at the community center.
Stephen Shepard from MFA Oil presented the check on Wednesday at the center’s gymnasium, a historic school gym constructed in 1937.
The grant was applied for by Blue Jeans Center Board Secretary Lori Drieman Daniel in September.
Drieman mentioned the importance of the cash infusion to sustain basketball programs, which currently run six days a week in the gym.
