Malcolm Oliver Radcliffe Jr.

Malcolm Oliver Radcliffe Jr.,90, of North Port, Florida, passed away on October 31, 2023. He was born on October 24, 1933, to the late Malcolm and Opal Allison Radcliffe.
Malcolm was a 1951 Washington High School graduate. After high school, he served in the military. It was while he was in the military that he married Cleo Lora Goodwin on August 20, 1954. After leaving the military he returned to Washington to work in the family business. During the 1960’s he purchased the family businesses consisting of the tire shop and Radcliffe Oil Co. He sat on the board of directors at Old National Bank of Washington, formerly known as U.S.B. and the former Citizens Bank. In the early 1980’s, he built his first motel in Vincennes called the Inn of Ole Vincennes. In early 1990 he built his second motel, a Budgetel Inn in Corydon, Indiana. He followed that up in 1993 with the Amoco Fuel Plaza in Washington, Indiana. Then in 1993 he owned the Amoco Fuel Plaza in Washington, at the 50 bypass. Shortly after that he built two additional motels, The Hampton Inn in Corydon and the Baymont in Washington. It was in 2007 that he moved to North Port, Florida. During his time in Florida, he was able to acquire three commercial properties located on US 41. He managed those properties up until this past year.
Malcolm is survived by his wife, Cleo Radcliffe; sons, Mark (Karen) Radcliffe and Robert (Jamie) Radcliffe; grandchildren, T.J. Wirts, Devin (Jake) Crouch, Drew Wirts, Cassidy Radcliffe, Nicole Gillespie, Tiffany Radcliffe, Cheyanne Simmons, Chadd Flint, and Jace Troup. He is preceded in death by his parents, Malcom and Opal Radcliffe; sister, Janet Huebner; and his daughter, Vicki Pancake.
Visitation will be held at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 4 – 8 pm and Saturday 10- 11 am . The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of Malcolm.
