Washington Catholic Lady Cardinals open up at the Birdcage against Shakamak

IHSAA Boys Basketball practice started officially yesterday. Here’s how the local teams begin their seasons.
Washington Catholic will travel to Bloomington Lighthouse on Monday Nov 20th
Loogootee and North Daviess get things started on Tuesday Nov 21st at Jack Butcher Arena, Shoals hosts Dugger
Washington hosts Barr Reeve in the annual pre Thanksgiving game on Wednesday November 22nd.  Also on that day South Knox travels to Sullivan, North Knox is at White River Valley, Pike Central is at Vincennes Lincoln
 
In local jr high action Washington 8th grade Lady Hatchets opened the season on the road at Ft. Branch.  WJHS 25 – Ft. Branch 37.  7th grade girls didn’t play due to Ft. Branch not having enough players in the 7th grade to fill a team.
Both teams are at home with the first HOME game of the season this Thursday  vs Princeton, 7th grade starts at 6:30pm in the Jr. High Gym.

Pacers erupt for 152 in a win over San Antonio who scored 111. Pacers who move to 4 and 3 were led by Tyrese Haliburton who had 23 points.

Longtime Milwaukee Brewers manager Craig Counsell will be heading down I-94 to take over the reigns of the Chicago Cubs from David Ross who was let go at the same time. Counsell, 53, has managed the Brewers since 2015. Counsell  will reportedly sign a five-year deal worth more than $40 million — which makes Counsell the highest-paid manager in MLB history.
