Brett Alan Humerickhouse

Brett Alan Humerickhouse, 59, of Washington, IN, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at 3:57pm with his family by his side.
He was born on March 12, 1964, to the late Billy J. and Sharon K. (Sargent) Humerickhouse in Ft. Sills, OK.
Brett was a happy person to be around. In his younger years he competed in the Special Olympics several times. He also worked at Red Door, and KCARC in Vincennes over the years, which he greatly enjoyed. Brett loved watching IU Men’s Basketball team play and also the Indianapolis Colts’. He enjoyed sitting outside in the weather, and watching people. Most importantly, he loved his family and spending time with them whenever able. He will be deeply missed.
Surviving is his brother, Brian (Stephanie) Humerickhouse of Washington, IN; his nephews, Cory (Amillia) Humerickhouse of Pueblo, CO, and Kyle Humerickhouse of Indianapolis, IN; his niece, Libby Humerickhouse of West Lafeyette, IN; his aunts and uncles, Jeanette Holt, Sue (Dean) Porter, Larry (Marilee) Sargent, Teresa (Bill) Ward, Joni (Richard) Burch, Steve Sargent; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Sherry; and his uncles; Duane Sargent, Cal J. Holt, and Bric Parker.
Visitation for Brett will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, from 4:00 – 8:00pm at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State St., Washington, IN 47501. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 10:30am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon, IN.
The family would like to acknowledge the superior care given to Brett during this time from The Villages at Oak Ridge in Washington, and St. Croix Hospice Care.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Special Olympics, 2600 Virginia Avenue NW, 11th Floor, Washington, DC 20037.
