Firefighters Respond to Late-Night Blaze in Washington

In a late-night response, local firefighters rushed to the scene of a fire at 727 S State Road 57, the upstairs apartment of Reid’s, in Washington. The incident was reported at 11:34 p.m., with multiple units deployed to address the situation. The initial report indicated that there were people trapped inside the building. Eventually, all residents were evacuated with the assistance of the fire department and officers. The owner, Jerry Torres, arrived at the scene. CenterPoint Energy was informed about the incident, and the water department was called to shut off the water supply to the building. Firefighters dealt with the intense smoke and heat inside the building but managed to bring the situation under control. The incident was declared resolved, and no injuries were reported. The last units cleared the scene around 1:04 a.m.
