Washington, Indiana – Omega Customs has joined forces with Hatchet Nation and Lady Hatchet Basketball to launch a special clothing fundraiser for Coach Gretchen Miles. Proceeds from this fundraiser will be divided between two commendable causes, the Tom & Phyllis Miles Family Scholarship Endowment and the Team Together Women’s Fund, managed by the Daviess Community Hospital Foundation. These organizations were chosen by the Lady Hatchets themselves.
The Tom & Phyllis Miles Family Scholarship Endowment awards an annual scholarship to a senior player or senior manager of the Lady Hatchet Basketball team. This scholarship was established in remembrance of Tom and Phyllis Miles, Coach Miles’ parents. Mr. and Mrs. Miles played important roles in Washington’s youth athletics and academics, serving as coaches, teachers, and enthusiastic fans. Their kindness, warmth, and unwavering support for the Hatchets left a lasting impact on everyone they touched.
In collaboration with Daviess Community Hospital, the Team Together Women’s Fund was established to honor Coach Miles. This fund offers essential assistance to patients receiving preventative women’s healthcare through Daviess Community Hospital and its healthcare providers. Support can come in the form of free mammogram screenings or gas gift cards for transportation to and from treatment. Together, the community is working to make a substantial and meaningful impact.
