Donald C. Rumble, 86, of Washington, IN went to be with the Lord on October 14, 2023. He was born in Poseyville, IN on February 15, 1937, to the late Noley and Frances (Hanes) Rumble. Donald attended Poseyville High School and was a graduate of 1955. He continued his education at University of Evansville, where he received his Master’s Degree. Donald was a member of the First Baptist Church in Washington. He worked at Crane for 36+ years, achieving Director of Quality Assurance in the Army Ammunition Activity Department. Upon his retirement be proudly received the Superior Civilian Service Award from Crane.
In his free time he enjoyed watching westerns, learning about the Civil War, travelling in the United States, spending time with his family, reading western novels, and woodworking. Donald was also a man of faith and a devote Christian.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Elizabeth Rumble; daughter Machele Stabler; sister Colleen Rumble; and brother Gene Rumble.
Donald is survived by his wife, of 25 years, Margaret Rumble; children Dr. Donald (Betty) Rumble Jr., Tricia (Matt Smith) Flores; stepdaughter Debra Williams; grandchildren Elizabeth (Matt) Green, Donald (Elyse) Rumble III, J. R. Rumble, Alison (Jude) Geatches, Adriana Flores, Andrea Williams, Abbi Williams; great-grandchildren Remy Rumble, Murphy Rumble, Maxwell Geatches; and sister Betty Rumble.
Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Rumble. Visitation will be held Friday, October 20, 2023, at 2020 State St. from 11am-1pm. A private family funeral service will be held Friday, October 20, 2023, at 1pm with burial a Sugarland Memory Garden immediately following.
Memorial donations can be made to First Baptist Church in Donald’s honor.
