Clara L. Wentland 91 of Washington went to her heavenly home on Thursday, October 12, 2023 with her family at her side.
Clara was born on March 12, 1932 in Montgomery, IN to the late Robert Shelton and Iva Mae Cummings Shelton.
Clara was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of Bethany Christian Church and enjoyed the roses in her garden; Clara also enjoyed going out to dinner and when she was younger was well known for her abilities in the kitchen. She was an avid Cubs fan and also was fond of I.U. Basketball.
Those left to mourn the loss of Clara are; her adoring children, Debbie Woolmer (David), Garry Wentland (Beth), Pam Carter (Rick); grandchildren, Staffan Brandt, Kristin Patterson, Ashley Yamnitz, Adam Wentland, Alex Wentland, Melissa Brooks, and Amanda Stout; great-grandchildren, Mason, Capriana, Hadrian, Alessio, Liam, Cooper, Brycen, Johnathan, Clayton, and Beckett.
Clara was preceded in death by her husband, George Wentland Jr and a sister, Mildred Shelton.
There will be a memorial visitation held on Monday, October 16, 2023 from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at Fredrick and Son-Gill Funeral Home, 308 E. Walnut St. Washington, IN 47501 with a service immediately following at 12:00 P.M. to be officiated by Pastor Matt Merold. The family welcomes online condolences to be left at www.gillsince1872.com. Clara will be laid to rest in Bethany Cemetery next to her beloved late husband.
