Phyllis Jean (Walls) Fox – Walker

Phyllis Jean (Walls) Fox – Walker, 92, of Vincennes, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at The Villages at Oak Ridge in Washington, Indiana. Phyllis was born on August 26, 1931 in Elkville IL and is the daughter of the late Ivan and Beulah (Walls) Romine. She married Raymond L. Fox on November 5, 1950 and he preceded her in death on November 9, 1996. Later in life, she found another love with Leland “Richard” Walker, and they married on September 16, 2000. Richard preceded her in death on March 21, 2017.
Phyllis was a homemaker and loved her family dearly. She was a member of The First Chrisitan Church in Bicknell IN. Phyllis was a former member of Mt. Olive Chapter, Order of The Eastern Star where she was a past matron at #211 in Bicknell IN. In her spare time, she loved to travel, go to the YMCA and go to the Bettye J. McCormick Senior Center where she rang bells with The Senior and Ringers. She always was ready to volunteer at her church and sing in the church choir. She walked for Relay for Life, volunteered at the Spirit of Vincennes Rendezvous and was a volunteer for many local charities and events.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Mark Fox (Cathie), Gary Fox (Patricia), Michael “Mike” Fox (Anna), Ron Fox (Vanessa); stepchildren, Deborah “Debbie” Gilbert (Randy) and Mark Walker (Debbie); 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren and several special step grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond L. Fox and second husband Leland “Richard” Walker; her parents, Ivan and Beulah Romine; sister, Wanda Fidler; daughter-in-law Deborah “Debbie” Fox and two grandchildren, Kyla Fox and Samuel “Sam” Petty.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 16, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home at 6:45pm an Eastern Star memorial service will close for the night. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at West Lawn Cemetery 823 E Co Rd 1100 N, Farmersburg, IN 47850 at 11:00 am with an hour of visitation one hour prior to the service time. The family would like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice for all the special care that was given to Phyllis and her family. The family has designated Relay for Life and the YMCA for memorial contributions. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of Phyllis.
