Firefighters swiftly responded to the scene, a historic commercial building situated at 107 W. Main St., Washington, at approximately 9:13 p.m. The building, constructed of red brick, is currently utilized for storage purposes and was unoccupied when the fire ignited. Subsequently, the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s office was summoned to assess the fire’s origin and cause. Upon investigation, it was determined that the fire had been intentionally set at multiple points within the building.
