In a series of events on October 4th and 5th, the Washington Police Department addressed two separate incidents. Firstly, on October 4th, at approximately 7:30 PM, officers from the department’s 2nd shift responded to a fire report in the 800 block of Front St. Upon arrival, officers made an unexpected discovery. Skyler Robinson, a 34-year-old individual from Galatia, Illinois, was found at the scene. A subsequent check revealed that Robinson was the subject of eight warrants issued in Illinois. These warrants encompassed a range of charges, including possession of methamphetamine, burglary, theft, criminal damage to property, and driving-related offenses. Robinson attempted to evade capture by fleeing on foot but was apprehended by officers.

Moving to the early hours of October 5th, at approximately 2:15 AM, officers from the Washington Police Department’s 3rd shift responded to a residence on Deerfield Lane following a report of an intruder dressed entirely in black. The intruder had fled the premises on foot. It was suspected that the reporting party knew the intruder, and a description of the individual and their associated vehicle was provided. Officers successfully located a vehicle matching the description, traveling northbound on Interstate 69. A traffic stop was conducted on HWY 58, leading to the arrest of Lance Simmons, a 39-year-old resident of Linton. Simmons faced charges related to residential entry.
