The SWDC School Corp has made an important announcement Friday regarding the appointment of Chip Mehaffey as their new Superintendent.
With an impressive 34 years of experience in the education field, Mehaffey steps into his new role with a wealth of knowledge. His previous position was Superintendent at Loogootee Community Schools for a tenure of 6 years, and he also brings experience as an Assistant Superintendent.
Mehaffey’s extensive career includes serving as a High School Principal, Athletic Director, and dedicating 23 years to the classroom as a math teacher and varsity basketball coach.
Outside of his professional life, Mr. Mehaffey enjoys a fulfilling family life with his wife, Stacy, along with their three children and six grandchildren. During his leisure time, he’s an avid traveler, cherishes moments with his family, delights in playing with his two puppies, and enjoys a game of golf.
