Knox County’s K9 Deputies, known as Zeno, Blast, and Goran, are gearing up for the 2023 American Police Canine Association Nationals, representing the Knox County Sheriff’s Department. Major Jame Wehrman expressed excitement about hosting the event for the fourth time in Knox County, expecting around 35 to 40 K9 teams from across the nation. During a preview, deputies showcased some of the impressive skills the K9s will demonstrate at the conference. Major Wehrman emphasized that the event goes beyond showcasing their abilities, serving as a vital certification opportunity for the teams. For residents interested in witnessing the action, a public demonstration will be held on Wednesday, October 4, at 6:30 p.m. at the Vincennes Cub League. Additionally, a parade of lights is scheduled from the Hampton Inn to the Vincennes Cub League along Hart Street and 15th Street.
