Pre-trial date set in Pike County animal hoarding case

Alisha Alka, 35, faces charges of animal neglect and obstruction of justice after 50 animals were found living in poor conditions near Otwell. Animals rescued included dogs, chickens, pigs, and goats, with help from several shelters, including Pike Animal Welfare Shelter, Vanderburgh, and Posey Counties. Donations for the Pike County shelter can be sent to PAWS at P.O. Box 63, Petersburg, IN 47567. A pre-trial conference for Alka is scheduled for October 18th in Pike Circuit Court.
