Minor Earthquake Occurs Near Illinois State Border

On Sunday, shortly after midnight, a 2.5-magnitude earthquake was recorded just west of the state border. A 2.5-magnitude quake is considered minor, typically resulting in minimal to no damage. This event is significant because it is the fourth earthquake in the Illiana border region in less than a month. Between August 14th and 17th, three similar minor earthquakes were felt in the same area.
