The Washington Hatchet Volleyball team took on North Daviess last night and came away with a straight set win 25-22, 25-15, 25-22. The Hatchet JV also won in two.
The Barr-Reeve Vikings hosted Evansville North, and picked up win number ten on the season. The Vikings won the match 3-1 (23-25, 27-25, 25-18, 25-11). The Vikings were led by Josie Knepp with 28 assists, Addison Jones with 24 kills, six blocks, and three aces, and Lanie Graber added 24 digs. The Vikings move to 10-6 on the season, and travel to Southridge on Saturday.
Washington Junior High volleyball vs Loogootee;
6th grade wins and are 1-0
7th grade loses and are 3-2.
8th loses to slip to 4-1.
Next match is Monday at home vs Jasper.
The Washington Catholic Boys and Girls Soccer teams grabbed wins at Rees Field defeating Sullivan. Congratulations to the Cardinals.
The three county golf teams squared off yesterday along with North Knox. Washington got the win on the day carding a 177 with Chaney Clark at medalist ending with a 47. Barr Reeve finished second with a 184, North Daviess 189, and North Knox 209.
The Barr Reeve Tennis team won their match last night over North Daviess 4-1. The Vikings improved to 9-1 on the season. The JV also picked up a 4-1 win. The Vikings will compete in the Evansville North Invitational this weekend.
The Washington JR High Football team defeated Princeton 27-8. The Hatchets scored two touchdowns through the air and two on the ground. Darian Turner, Leighton Fry, Jake Johnson, and Bobby Kolusch all scored for the Hatchets. Cole Leischner and Jackson Howell each threw for a touchdown pass from the Quarterback position. Washington travels to North Posey next Tuesday for their next game.
