Man Arrested for Knife Threats at Indiana University

Bloomington police have apprehended a man accused of wielding a knife and threatening two women on the Indiana University campus. Following multiple 911 calls reporting a man pursuing two women with a knife, officers swiftly arrived at Fourth and Dunn Streets around 11 a.m. The man was last spotted near IU’s Sample Gates at Kirkwood and Indiana Avenues. With assistance from an individual who had seen the suspect, law enforcement successfully located him on a campus path. The arrested individual has been identified as 22-year-old Karsten Harshbarger. He was taken into custody, and police discovered a knife during the arrest. According to the two women who were targeted, Harshbarger had been trailing them as they headed towards campus. Harshbarger now resides in Monroe County Jail, facing charges of intimidation while armed with a deadly weapon and possession of a controlled substance.
