Minor Earthquake Near Vincennes – Limited Impact Reported

On Monday night, a minor earthquake occurred less than 5 miles west of Vincennes. The US Geological Survey revealed that the epicenter was situated in Illinois, approximately four miles southeast of Lawrenceville. Reports of the event have been scarce, with no damage noted and few individuals having felt the tremor. A total of slightly over 50 people reported their awareness of the quake, which struck at 8:11 p.m. Central Time (9:11 p.m. Eastern Time). The earthquake registered a magnitude of 2.5 and was detected at a depth of 2 kilometers.
